Let me be honest with y’all—burnout is real.
And it doesn’t always look like falling apart.
Sometimes it looks like smiling while you’re silently screaming inside.
Sometimes it looks like showing up when you’ve got nothing left to give.
Sometimes it looks like running on fumes and calling it “strength.”
But here’s what I’ve learned:
God never meant for us to live that way.
In my latest podcast episode, Beating Burnout, I’m talking about what burnout really feels like, what causes it, and how to start climbing out of it—one intentional step at a time.
What Burnout Looks Like
Burnout isn’t just being tired. It’s being empty.
You feel overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted—even after you rest.
You might be snapping at people for no reason, forgetting things, or feeling numb.
Sometimes burnout comes from trauma and PTSD.
Sometimes it comes from carrying too much for too long.
And sometimes? It sneaks in from the daily grind—when you stop pouring into yourself because you’re too busy pouring into everyone else.
The Keys to Beating Burnout
Burnout doesn’t go away just because we push through.
It heals when we slow down and start caring for the whole person:
1. Take care of your body
Move it. Feed it well. Rest it.
Go for a walk. Drink some water. Take a nap without guilt.
2. Take care of your mind
Read. Reflect. Journal. Learn something new.
Give yourself permission to pause, process, and be creative again.
3. Take care of your soul
Get back in the Word.
Pray—not just for others, but for you.
Fast, journal, and surround yourself with faith-filled community.
God made us body, mind, and spirit—and healing starts when we care for all three.
A Coaching Moment For You
Here’s your check-in for the week.
Take out your journal, or just sit quietly with these questions:
What’s wearing me out right now?
What part of me have I been neglecting—my heart, my mind, or my soul?
What is one small boundary I can set this week to protect my peace?
You don’t have to overhaul your life overnight.
You just have to start.
